Two years ago, the "Genossenkorporation Stans" started to expand its existing heat network with the Switzercloud and LoRaWAN® technology. The heat meters of the manufacturers Landis+Gyr and Kamstrup at the customers received a LoRaWAN® plug-in module and since then send the measurement data several times a day to the Switzercloud. As a result, not only 1 measured value per year is available for billing, but the entire measurements profile per transfer station.
In addition to the meter reading, the flow and return temperatures and the performance data are also transmitted and analyzed. With the detailed measurement data, Stans can operate the entire district heating network more optimally and identify and rectify problems more quickly. The bottom line is that it is easier for "Genossenkorporation Stans" to operate the entire district heating network more efficiently and save costs.

The energy plant of the "Genossenkorporation Stans" is a thermal power plant. Electricity and heat are generated there from domestic wood, CO2-neutral. The plant consists of a woodchip heating system, a wood gasification and electricity generation system, and the Stans-Oberdorf heating network.
